Giving Back

Earth Source Organics is dedicated to giving to many organizations that follow our mission.  There are so many other worthy organizations that need our help, and as we continue to grow we continue to partner with groups that share our goals and vision.  To be able to give either in money or chocolate to help others with their fundraising brings so much joy to us. We only hope that the world will continue to love our products so that we can keep giving. Thank you for buying our chocolate and allowing us to continue to give back.

With peace and blessings, Audrey Darrow

Unblind My Mind is a nonprofit organization raising awareness of the link between the food we eat and the growing health ailments, from allergies to the growing brain disorder epidemic. We advocate diet reform as the first line of therapy in treating many common ailments. We are what we eat, but most of us don’t know what we are eating.

Unblind My Mind - Discover Food For Health

We are what we eat, but most of us don’t know what we are eating.

Our mission is to create a community with heightened awareness of the food we eat and its impact on the brain and overall health. But food choices are only choices when we are aware of what we are eating. We believe the health care revolution begins with us making healthy food choices. We report food and drug manufacturing practices and their impact on health, particularly on our brains. Once you are aware of what you are eating, we help you implement healthy choices in your diet and environment.” –

Teens Turning GreenTruly amazing group of teens. With their desire to change the world, each has the potential to be a future leader. I recommend taking some time to check out the Teens Turning Green website. They have many programs and a visit to their website will make you feel optimistic about our future when you see what these teens are doing. Their green message and actions inspire changes in habits for a healthier and more sustainable future. Their programs engage, inform and mobilize students to envision and create a more sustainable world.

Their approach – “We are young people with a passion to change the world. We know our world, speak our minds, and value values. We stand for environmentally sustainable and socially responsible choices, practices and communities. We believe that a conscious mindset and thoughtful perspective are critical in today’s society. We remain aware of the effects of our actions on the earth and those around us. We evolve, but we do not cave. We assess our surroundings and investigate the impacts of what we do and think. We choose wisely and lead with purpose and passion. We think that every living being has the power to affect positive change. We see individuals as catalysts for beautiful, radical movements that our world needs at every level. We set ourselves on a journey from conventional to conscious. We learn from innovation and living in the moment. We push for transparency, challenge injustice, and shake up systems that oppress, poison, or fail. We empower peers to grow our global voice because together we thrive. We choose action for good over apathy 24 hours a day. Impossible is nothing. Inspiration is everything. We dream and do.” – Erin Schrode

The Feeding America food bank network members supply food to over 37 million Americans each year. This incredible network feeds a family of 4 for an entire month for $45. That’s 360 meals!

“In many ways, America is the land of plenty. But for 1 in 6 people in the United States, hunger is a reality. Many people believe that the problems associated with hunger are confined to small pockets of society, certain areas of the country, or certain neighborhoods, but the reality is much different.

Right now, millions of Americans are struggling with hunger. These are often hard-working adults, children and seniors who simply cannot make ends meet and are forced to go without food for several meals, or even days.

It’s time to educate ourselves about the causes of hunger in America.” – Feeding America

HOPEIf you’re interested in finding out how you can help fight hunger in America there are many different ways available on Feeding America’s website.

Earth Source Organics: Platinum Sponsor of the Gluten Free Extravaganza
Gluten Free NetWorks thanks Earth Source Organics for being a Platinum Sponsor of the Gluten Free Extravaganza to celebrate Celiac Awareness Month!

Organic Consumers AssociationDear Friend of the Organic Consumers Association,
I’m writing you today to ask for help. This is only the second time in 13 years that OCA has had to put out an emergency fundraising appeal. OCA needs to step up our efforts to label genetically engineered foods and fight Monsanto, to preserve strict organic standards and expand the organic market, and to reverse global warming before it’s too late, but we don’t have the financial means to do so. Strategic staff and campaign efforts are in jeopardy.  Donate to the OCA (tax-deductible)

Regards and Solidarity,
Ronnie Cummins,
Co-Founder and National Director, Organic Consumers Association

Here’s part of an email we received from a startup company that is educating people to help them improve their health. Since that is one of our primary goals as well we were proud to become a sponsor without hesitation.

“Dear Friends at Earth Source Organics:
I am a dietitian who is in a new position at a start-up company called MDPrevent. The company is founded by Dr. Steven Charlap, a physician and MBA from Harvard who is funding this effort (and giving all of his profit to charity) to begin a Preventive Medicine practice and Learning Center. The goal is to help people make transformational change in their life to improve their health.

The Learning Center is going to run classes of 6 and 9 weeks to help people (targeted to age 50 and over) make major life changes around nutrition, exercise, stress management, goal setting, and community service. It is going to be like nothing out there!”

Thank you for the wonderful support you have shown
El Puente – The Bridge!

“The Bridge provides educational assistance, food assistance, and microloans mainly to indigenous people in the southeastern part of Costa Rica. Our goal is to help people help themselves to self-sufficiency.”

You have put more children in school than ever – children who would not have been able to go otherwise. You have enabled us to keep working toward restarting the microloan program. There is a 40-year-old man going to sixth grade, and a 19 year-old boy so eager to finish he’s doing 5th and 6th grade at the same time. Your support is very welcome!

Charity Water Well“Four Septembers ago, we had a crazy idea: we asked our friends to give up their birthdays and ask for donations instead of gifts. We used 100% of the money raised to build water projects in developing countries. Every September since, we’ve done it again. In September 2010, we raised $1,091,138 through mycharity: water individual fundraising campaigns. With the help of East Lake Church, supporters at charity: ball, and other incredible donors, we reached our fundraising goal of $1.7 million to provide every Bayaka in Central African Republic with access to clean water.”

Safe drinking water

$20 can give one person clean, safe drinking water! A water project costs an average of $5,000 and can serve a community of 250 people. Donate to Charity Water. 100% will be used for direct project costs.

Need a last-minute gift? Donate in someone’s name. 100% of your donation is tax-deductible as a charitable contribution.

Food Democracy Now! is a grassroots movement of more than 650,000 farmers and citizens dedicated to building a sustainable food system that protects our natural environment, sustains farmers and nourishes families.

Food Democracy Now!

Our food system is fundamentally broken. A few companies dominate the market, prioritizing profits over people and our planet. Government policies put the interests of corporate agribusiness over the livelihoods of farm families. Farm workers toil in unsafe conditions for minimal wages. School children lack access to healthy foods–as do millions of Americans living in poverty. From rising childhood and adult obesity to issues of food safety, air and water pollution, worker’s rights and global warming, our current food system is leading our nation to an unsustainable future.

Food Democracy Now! members have a different vision. We know we can build a food system that gives our communities equal access to healthy food, and respects the dignity of the farmers who produce it. We believe in recreating regional food systems, supporting the growth of humane, natural and organic farms, and protecting the environment. We value our children’s health, worker’s rights, conservation, and animal welfare over corporate profits. And we believe that working together, we can make this vision a reality in our lifetimes.” –
